Preface

Motherland Women Society has crossed up and downs, sweeter and bitter experience, many hurdles and entered into the tenth year’s age. It has been promoting the welfare and protecting the rights of women and children having objective to protect rights and to promote the welfare of exploited, abused, suppressed, facing injustice and inhumanity and being backward by various reason through its social service and other programs.

It is indispensable to be lifted up and developed of each class, region, and community equally. It is not possible by just the Government Department but also needed our mutual cooperation, good faith, positive thoughts, struggle, and attempts. Therefore, this Society has been incorporated having its board objective to promote all classes equally, to work on empowerment and inclusive, to raise awareness and give orientation on entrepreneurship visualizing the facts and to end the problems existed in the society such as social discrimination, inequality, poverty, unemployment.

MWS’s vison is to see a prosperous society by economically equitable and sustainable, environmentally sound, socially equal and inclusive.

Mission

Contribute for standard life style by creating community mobilization against the different kinds of inequality and social discrimination, violence against women and children, and income generating program.

Objectives

  • Operate the awareness program to marginalized people (Dalit, Indigenous), Child Labour, Differently Abled, Orphans/Unsheltered Children for their interest and established shelter, informal education for child and women.
  • Provide shelter for disabled old age people.
  • Generate income and create employment by giving different kinds of skilful training to society people (poor and indigenous people, especially single women).
  • Operate environmental and agricultural related program.
  • Provide relief fund to help for suffering from natural disaster people.

Ms. Sarswoti Khanal (Paudel) is founding president of the Motherland Women Society and has been working as President of Motherland Women Society since 2008 A.D. She has been actively involved in social welfare activities for more than 25 years.

Ms. Indira Thapa has been working as Vice-President of Motherland Women Society and also as Co-ordinator of MWS Child Home. She has been active in working for child women rights  for more than 28 years.

Ms. Rama Karki Baniya has been working as Secretary of the Motherland Women Society since 2011 A.D. She is Journalist by profession and has been working for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion(GESI) for Women and Child Empowerment for over 20 years.

Ms. Shakuntala Kattel has been working as Treasurer for Motherland Women Society since 2008 A.D. She specializes in vocational trainings and is a Vocational Trainer at CTEVT by profession. She has been involved in  trainings and women empowerment activities for over 17 years.

Mrs. Suryakala Koirala is working as sub-secretary of MotherlandWomen Society. She has been involved in social works through NGOs since 2016.

Mrs. Ambika Pandey

Mrs. Ambika Panday is working as teacher in a Government school for 20 years. She looks after the academic sectors of children in Motherland Child Home.
